Hi, it's me!

Portrait

I've been taking photos ever since I was around 6 or 7 years old. I can't remember a moment in my life when photography wasn't a major part of it.

I started this website to display my work as well as to practice web design and development. Eventually I will hope to add a blog to the site, where I will talk about my trips and teach some tricks about photography.

River Size Shooting

I've been shooting for the better part of 10 years. I went from a bridge camera to a compact, to a phone, and now back to a DSLR. And while the majority of those past photos are now lost to time, I didn't lose the experience I gained from taking them.

I'm from a family who takes a lot of photos. My parents always took a film SLR to their vacations. Therefore it isn't too surprising that I also picked up photography as a hobby. My dad helped me with different concepts like aperture, motion blur, as well as long exposure photography. I feel like I have to thank him for actually getting me into this hobby.

Thanks Dad!

I have studied photography in school for a year, which helped to reinforce what I learned. I also learned new techniques like hyperlapses and lighting. I don't think that everyone needs classes to master something, but it did offer me an opportunity to shoot interesting compositions that I wouldn't be able to create alone.

Water with colour sprayed in

I started this site as a project to display my work, but also to as a little bit of an homage to the "for fun" websites of the 1990s. Back then the internet wasn't just filled with companies trying to make profit, but rather by hobbyists and other individuals. I wish I could've experienced the internet back then, but oh well. At least this website won't be taken down by Google or Amazon or any other hosting company.

I write all of this stuff alone. This entire website is my work, including the photos, the style, and even the words you are reading right now. I don't have anyone else to proofread, so I might be wrong at times, but I think that's okay. Just don't try to take my opinions as facts.
